Dear Opera Lover,
I promise you. This is a season you won’t want to miss. Every Dicapo
Opera Theatre production is a musical and theatrical gem, with each
exploring a different kind of love, including romantic love in Gounod’s
Roméo et Juliette, twisted love in the New York premiere of Conrad Susa’s
The Dangerous Liaisons, and cowboy love in Puccini’s La
Fanciulla del West (The Girl of the Golden West).
Known for bringing together established artists with many of the best
young singers in the business, Dicapo Opera Theatre, which has been dubbed
New York’s third opera company, presents all its productions in its
intimate East Side theatre, where audiences love to feel a part of the action
at prices
just a fraction of those of its bigger sisters across town.
Other exciting presentations this season are special events from Tobias Picker,
Dicapo’s
Artistic Advisor and Nilas Martins, Dicapo’s Director
of Dance, a
double-bill program of Mozart’s The Impresario and Wargo’s The
Music Shop,
and several family productions.
For New Yorkers, whose love of a bargain is legend, Dicapo Opera Theatre
may very well be the best classical music bargain in town.
There’s something about a night at the opera that’s unlike any
other form of
entertainment. So, be adventurous. Give it a try and subscribe.
