 Bellini's Norma opened our season in October. In this ultimate bel canto work, Bellini merges the pristine melodies and harmonies of classicism with the raw emotional power of the coming romantic age. Soaring lyrical passages take the audience through the tragic plight of the Druid priestess, Norma. This production was perfect for Dicapo's intimate space recreating the mysterious world of ancient Gaul as it collides with the Roman Empire.
