Dicapo Opera Theatre presents a family favorite Gioachino Rossini’s La Cenerentola, based the famous children’s fairy tale about acceptance and the power of love, Friday and Saturday, May 9 at 11:30 a.m. and May 10 at 3:00 p.m. at 184 East 76th Street at Lexington. The production is sung in English, is directed by Francine Harman, and conducted by Pacien Mazzagatti. La Cenerentola is appropriate for children from four years of age on up. It is one of several productions for children and their families produced by Dicapo Opera Theatre this season. Michael Capasso, general director of Dicapo Opera Theatre, believes that these entertaining productions for children are a wonderful way to introduce young people to opera, an art form that can add a new dimension to their lives.
