Puccini's second opera receives its American staged premire. Comissioned for La Scala after the success of his first opera, Le Villi, Edgar was to provide a turning point in Puccini's career. The beginning signs of the master opera composer who would go on to write the most beloved operas of all time are evident. The third act Requiem contains some of the composers most beautiful music. In fact, it was this music that was chosen by Toscanini to be performed at the composers funeral. Don't miss this once in a lifetime opportunity.
