Our season opens with a revival of Donizetti's acclaimed comic masterpiece. In this production, described as "delightful" by Opera News, the action takes place in occupied Italy at the end of World War II. Nemorino, Adina and all the Italian peasants are happily liverated by the American Army. The quacky Dr. Dulcamara sells such forbidden items as Coca Cola, candy bars, nylon stockings and a special "Eliser" which bears a strong resemblance to American whiskey. Be part of this hilarious evening!
