Tobias Picker will conduct his comic family opera, Fantastic Mr. Fox, the first production since its acclaimed world premiere by the Los Angeles Opera in 1998. With libretto by Donald Sturrock, the opera is based on the much-loved children’s book of the same name by Roald Dahl, beloved author of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and James and the Giant Peach.The story tells of the Fox family’s revenge against the evil farmers, Boggis, Bunce and Bean, who scheme to rid the farm of the Fox family. British director Walter Sutcliffe makes his U.S. debut in this production. Bring your children and grandchildren with you and laugh and cry at the Fox Family’s adventures. Performed in English with Dicapotitles.
