Ruggerio Leoncavallo Production: Michael Capasso Canio: Adam Klein This revival of our 1997 production of Leoncavallo's only opera to remain in the repertoire. Pagliacci is the realistic story of a clown who must perform while his heart breaks because of his wife's betrayal. The tragedy, as depicted in the opera's "play within a play" has such dramatic impact and the music is so beautiful that it has become one of the all-time favorites of opera lovers everywhere. As for the PLUS portion of the evening, our audience will be treated to some glorious music from the rich canon of the Verismo period. PLUS: Arias, scenes and duets from the verismo period performed in concert. Featuring arias and selections from: Fedora, Adriana Lecouvreur, L'Amico Fritz, Edgar, Cavalleria Rusticana, and Andre Chenier With Performances by: Hansu Kim, Susan Foster, Andrew Krikawa, Christina Rohm and the Dicapo Resident Artists. about Dicapo | current season | special events | Dicapo in the news | children's chorus | resident artist program | rental information | ticket information | contact Dicapo | home dicapo.com is a production of OperaWeb.com |
