 The holiday season was celebrated with Donizetti's delightful La Fille du Regiment (The Daughter of the Regiment), sung in French with original English dialogue especially created for this production. Dicapo's version returned this madcap farce to the traditions of the popular music halls where it was first performed. Wild chases, mistaken identities, and biting satire abounded in this tale of one army brat's search for true love among the military bivouacs of Europe.
