"Street Scene" is the largest production ever mounted by Dicapo. A cast of 65 perform. The cast is a combination of opera singers, actors, dancers, children, extras and a dog.

Based on the award-winning Elmer Rice play of the same name, the opera takes place on a sidewalk in New York's lower East Side over a 24-hour period. Weill's haunting music combined with the power and passion of Rice's story will have the audience riveted to their seats. In Dicapo's intimate space, this will prove to be an explosive evening in the theatre. (Sung in English)

This performance of "Street Scene" funded in part by the Kurt Weill foundation for Music, Inc., 7 East 20th street, New York, NY 10003
