A cast of 65 perform. The cast is a combination of opera singers, actors, dancers, children, extras and a dog. ![]() Based on the award-winning Elmer Rice play of the same name, the opera takes place on a sidewalk in New York's lower East Side over a 24-hour period. Weill's haunting music combined with the power and passion of Rice's story will have the audience riveted to their seats.
